Founded in 1947, Strollers Cricket Club has a proud history built on community, opportunity, and a love of the game. What began as a group of local soccer players looking for an off-season sport has grown into a thriving club with junior development at its heart.
The name “Strollers” comes from a memorable moment in those early days, when the players would walk from their soccer matches to the Racehorse Hotel. Watching them head across, the publican called out, “Look at this bunch strolling across!”—and the name has proudly remained ever since.
Today, Strollers is deeply committed to developing the next generation of cricketers. We offer a complete junior pathway through the Cricket Ipswich competition, catering for all ages and abilities from Level 1 through to Level 3. Our inclusive programs include Blasters, girls-only Blasters initiatives, and fun Friday night Blasters games, creating a welcoming environment where kids can learn, play, and love cricket.
Our focus on junior development continues to deliver results, with the club proudly recognised as Ipswich Junior Club Champions for the 2025/26 season—an achievement that reflects both our strong coaching and supportive club culture.
As players progress, Strollers provides a clear pathway into senior cricket, with teams competing across Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, and Division 4. Many of our senior players have come through our junior ranks, highlighting the strength of our development system.
At Strollers Cricket Club, we’re more than just a team—we’re a community where young players can grow, build confidence, and enjoy the game for years to come.
